It's a great shake down for all the weapons systems the Navy and blue water Marine Corps have had languishing for the last 10 years as the land wars ground on. No less that 3 separate articles in the Early bird were about either new systems that worked well (F18G Electronic Warfare, Osprey retrieving downed pilots) or that worked well, but needed the " I swear, it'll be there in 6 weeks....a year.. 3 years..." replacements (Harrier/F35B). Plus all the chest beating by the Marines about fulfilling their "historical mission". <br /><br />that's the other reason we can do this; these assets (Naval, Tac Air, ELINt) are Not being used in Iraq or Afghanistan, and never really were.
